Alison was a fine world class track athlete who competed for and was National Champion of New Zealand, Scotland and Great Britain. She achieved a world class ranking of 7th in the Indoor 1,500 meters and 9th in the 1,000 meters in 1979. Alison’s time for 1,000 meters, 2 minutes 38.54, achieved in the Berlin Olympic Stadium in August 1979, is the current New Zealand Open National record. Alison competed for New Zealand in the 1978 Commonwealth Games and for Scotland in the 1980 World Championships.
Assistant Masters Coach – Dara Wittenberg:
Athletic Achievements: 2000 – present – completed multiple marathons, century bike rides, and triathlons of all distances, including Ironman. 2001 – Volley in Gastonia tournament Champions, Women’s Silver Division volleyball. 2001 – Grass Doubles, Women’s B, tournament champions at Greensboro. 2000 – Second place, women’s 34-39 age group in the Pass-a-grille, Fl. 5k. 1998 – NC State’s Women’s Intramural Racquetball Champion. 1987 – Member of Inaugural Women’s National British Fast-pitch Softball team. 1997 – Eastern Seaboard Racquetball Champion, Women’s Division A.
